How long do your Christmas wreaths last? If you hang your wreath outside it should last well past the holiday season even in warm climates. I took my wreath off my door here in Maine at the end of March and it still looked good but not much balsam fragrance left. Your wreath will not last as long if you place it between your door and your storm door. If you hang it inside just mist it with water to prolong its freshness Top of Page We sell double-faced wreaths and they are approximately 6 inches thick. Top of Page What do you mean by double-faced wreaths? Balsam fir tips are put together in bunches and wired to a wreath ring to make a wreath. A single-faced wreath means that the bunches of balsam are attached to only one side of the wreath ring. A double-faced wreath has the bunches of balsam built around both sides of the wreath ring. This makes the wreaths much fuller and much more desirable. Single-faced wreaths are the type typically sold at big box stores.Top of Page How do your wreaths come packaged? Our wreaths are shipped fully decorated. We place the wreath in a plastic bag to keep it as fresh as possible in transit. We then place it in a wreath box. We place the free gift card and packing slip in the plastic pouch on the outside of the box. Top of Page What is the difference between a 24 inch wreath and a 30 inch wreath? The 24 inch or 30 inch refers to the approximate outside diameter of the wreaths. A 24' wreath is a perfect size for todays standard 32" doors. The 30" is much larger and looks great on larger doors. I owned a Victorian home with double doors and the 30" wreaths were perfect there.Top of Page I live in New York now but I am originally from Oregon. I grew up with noble fir and other types of western fir wreaths. Why does everyone here think the balsam fir wreaths are the cat's meow? Good question - easy answer - the fragrance, the scent most associated with Christmas. Balsam fir is the most fragrant of all the fir varieties.Top of Page We start shipping our wreaths on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006. You can get your wreath anytime after that. If you are in a hot climate we suggest you don't have your wreath arrive before Dec.7 to assure its freshness through the holiday season and into the new year.Top of Page Christmas Centerpiece Questions How long will the centerpiece last? Your centerpiece should last for three or more weeks. If you want it to look really fresh for Christmas dinner we recommend that you have it arrive after Dec. 10th. You can receive it earlier and leave it exactly how it came in the package, and place it in a cold, dark spot like the garage or take the candles off and put it in the fridge. Our centerpieces are made in absorbent floral foam and when watered regularly will stay fresh throughout the holiday season.Top of Page Can I get a centerpiece for Thanksgiving?
You sure can but please be aware that it probably won't last through the entire holiday season. Also we have to start shipping Thanksgiving centerpieces and advent wreaths on Weds. Nov. 15th to assure that they arrive before Thanksgiving. UPS does not deliver on Thanksgiving day or the day after.Top of Page Advent Wreath Questions Where can I find the traditional prayers said when lighting the advent wreath? We include information which explains the history and traditions of the Advent Wreath, the prayers, blessings and suggested bible readings for each week in Advent. Top of Page Can the advent wreath be used as a tabletop centerpiece? Our advent wreaths are about 18" to 20" in diameter so they are kind of large for most dining tables. Some of our customers use them on their dining tables prior to setting the table or after the table is cleared.Top of Page Will the advent wreath last throughout the advent season? Yes. We recommend that you mist your advent wreath regularly to keep it fresh. We have to ship early to arrive the week after Thanksgiving. To be extra sure of its freshness throughout the season you should leave it in the package exactly how it was when you opened it and store it in a dark, cool location like your garage until you are ready to celebrate the 1st Sunday of Advent on Dec. 3rd. Top of Page Kissing Ball Questions How big are your Christmas kissing balls? Our kissing ball is a full 12" in diameter. How long do the Christmas kissing balls last? A long time. I hang mine from the chandelier in my dining area. I took it down at the end of April. Of course most people would take it down earlier but I just love it and keep it up as long as possible. Top of Page I was thinking of sending the kissing ball as a gift? Is it well received? People love this gift. It's really unique in most of the country. It seems like it's only common here in New England. I have one customer who orders six of them every year. She hangs them out on her porch, everywhere she hangs her plants in the summer. They work kind of like a chain letter, one person sends it to someone, they love it, order it for their friends, and on and on..............fine with me. Top of Page Advent Calendars Your Garden Lover's Advent Calendars look interesting? What more can you tell me about them? They are beautiful and very unique. Lucy Tracy, the creator, is a well known local artist here on Mount Desert Island. She is a weaver, painter and collage maker. These advent calendars started out as a card and she then decided to create a landscape around the card. She designed the cards to look like a seed packet. She creates collages using rice papers and pressed flowers. These advent calendars are prints of her collages. Trust me when I say this is something you won't use and throw away. You'll use it over and over again. You'll want to display it every year with your other Christmas decorations.Top of Page How is the advent calendar shipped? We ship the advent calendars UPS or the USPS. They are in a corrugated mailer for protection.Top of Page Ordering and Shipping Questions How much do I pay for shipping? Acadia Wreath's prices include the shipping charges anywhere in the contiguous United States. via UPS ground shipping. We don't call it free shipping. We think that's misleading. You are paying for shipping but the shipping costs are included in the price. Please go to our shipping information page to view a time in transit map and other shipping information.Top of Page Can I get a faster air delivery? If so, how much more is it? Yes, we can ship UPS 2 day or 3 day air at your expense. Please let us know in the special instructions section of the shopping cart if you want to upgrade shipping. We will email you to let you know the cost and then you can contact us with your credit card number. We calculate the cost by determining how much it would cost us to send it ground and then deducting this amount from the cost of the upgraded shipping. This way you are only paying for the difference between the ground shipping and the 2 day or 3 day air shipping costs. Top of Page Can I request a specific shipping date? Orders placed before Nov. 26th can request a specific ship date. Ship date equals the date the product leaves our facility on the UPS truck. We can't guarantee arrival dates unless upgraded shipping is requested. We do our very best to ship the product when you want it shipped. We ship first come first serve so its best to get your order in early.Top of Page How long does it take to process and ship orders? We are able to process and ship most orders in 3 days or less. Our busiest week is Nov. 27th to Dec. 1st - orders placed in this week may take 5 days to process and ship.Top of Page Will my product stay fresh during shipment? We place your balsam product in a bag and then in the box which helps keep if fresh in transit. We ship a lot of product on Mondays and Tuesdays to help ensure their arrival before the weekend.Top of Page When do you recommend shipping to hot climates? We recommend that your balsam products be shipped to arrive no earlier than Dec. 8th in hot climates. Top of Page How do I care for my balsam product? We include care instructions in the box with all of our balsam products.Top of Page What if my order is damaged? What does 100% Satisfaction Guarantee mean? It means that we want you to be happy with your purchase. Please give us a call if you're not happy so that we can determine why and exchange the product or give you a credit or refund. For a refund, credit or exchange you must return it in original condition within 10 days. The product must be in its original box and condition, and be accompanied by a copy of the packing slip or invoice.
